Seung Hi and Sabrina enjoyed working with Jan Meakes, Indonesian teacher, and staff and students of at Echuca West Primary School, on a project exploring the relationship of people to the land, food and culture in several Asian countries.
The project was developed over Terms 2 and 3 2007. funded by Arts Victoria's Artist in Schools program

Project Co-ordinator report to Arts Victoria:
'It was an exceedingly happy time for all involved. Everyone looked forward to each Thursday and Friday when we would all see Sabrina and Seung Hi again. Everyone loved the new and unfamiliar music styles which were highly emotive. Students, teachers and parents all loved the different sounds each different drum made which could be heard coming from the Music room.. Each added movement the students learned in their dances left them amazed that they could all actually learn it all. Seung Hi and Sabrina demonstrated very strong teaching skills and developed a great rapport with the students. As coordinator I was very pleased to witness the bond that developed between us all and the knowledge that was imparted culturally through music, dance and Asian languages."

September 22, 2007 at the Golden Dragon Museum, Bendigo
Presented by Kita Performing Arts Company and the Golden Dragon Museum

Local groups from the Bendigo area came together to celebrate the ‘Autumn Harvest Moon Festival’, as that week, the moon was at its roundest and brightest for the year. This community performance featured traditional and contemporary performing arts of Asia based on themes of Moon and Harvest, with music, dance, drama and martial arts from China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, India and Vietnam and some fireworks. ‘Tales of the Moon’ performances recognised and celebrated the lively local performing arts culture, including residents from many different backgrounds and the Chinese heritage of Bendigo and district.
This project was funded by Arts Victoria, through an Arts Residencies Grant, Regional Arts Victoria through a Regional Arts Fund and the City of Greater Bendigo.
